Baseline Concussion Test
Baseline testing provides a snapshot of the child’s cognitive function, attention, language and balance prior to a head injury. This is important for aiding in post-concussion care and management as well as making safe and informed return to play decisions.
Baseline Concussion Testing and Post Concussion Testing will both involve using the ImPACT Test as well as a vision test and a static balance screen. ImPACT Pediatric* and the ImPACT Test * both measure visual and verbal memory, reaction time, and processing speed through baseline and post-injury testing to help determine if a pediatric patient can safely return to activity. Children ages 5-11 will be tested using the ImPACT Pediatric* and children 12 and older will be tested using the ImPACT Test*.
