Elaine has been licensed to practice since 1998. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Linguistics at the University of Ottawa in 1996 followed by a Master of Health Sciences in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto in 1998.
Elaine has practiced in a variety of multi-disciplinary team settings including a children’s treatment centre, a northern community access centre and a rural school board. Elaine has had the opportunity to work with children of many ages with a variety of needs and conditions. Her role in the school board brought insight into the significant impact that speech, language and/or communication challenges can have on a child’s learning and participation in school life.
In her journey as a parent of a neurodivergent child with complex needs, Elaine has worked with many medical, health, education and rehabilitation professionals. She embraces both a family-centre and team approach to care, knowing that every child with special needs is supported by a team of parents and family members who also have needs of their own.
Elaine brings experience with assessment, management and treatment of many speech, language, early literacy and communication needs.
